Mixed Berries with Orange Buttered Rum Sauce

This warm citrus with rum sauce is a delicious complement to the bright flavor and color of strawberries and blueberries.

Ingredients
  • 1pkg. Volume(16 oz) Driscoll's Strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1pkg. Volume(6 oz) Driscoll's Blueberries
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2cup CUP_USVolumeorange juice
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2cup CUP_USVolumedark rum
  • 3Tbsp. TABLESPOON_USVolumelight brown sugar, packed
  • 1tsp. TEASPOON_USVolumeorange zest, grated
  • 1tsp. TEASPOON_USVolumelemon juice
  • 4Tbsp. TABLESPOON_USVolumebutter, cold and unsalted, cut into 4 pieces (1/2 stick)
Instructions
  1. Divide berries evenly between four dessert dishes or long-stemmed glasses. 
  2. Combine orange juice, rum, brown sugar and zest in a small saucepan. Simmer until reduced by half, watching carefully to make sure it doesn’t boil over. 
  3. Add lemon juice and butter to the saucepan; heat and stir just until butter melts. Pour over berries and serve immediately.
